UK airport retailing - self serving?

Just need a little help with my research into authentic customer orientated organisations for my new book launching February 2016.

A) Have all UK airport retailers stopped asking to see passenger's boarding passes since this unnecessary requirement was highlighted in the UK press during the summer of 2015.

B) If they are still asking to see boarding passes for all purchases, do they return the VAT to passengers who are entitled to be refunded? If not ...please name the retailers still requesting your boarding passes as a matter of course when buying goods at the airport.

Please note: Duty Free shops need to see boarding passes as proof of destination.
